Cooking Club
Parents and students cooking and sharing together.
Our Cooking Club brings parents and students into the kitchen together to cook, taste and share food from the many cultures that make up the Birlik community.
What happens
- Each session has a theme — a country, a culture or a type of dish.
- Parents share recipes from their own family and home country.
- Students cook alongside them, learning real kitchen skills and safety.
- And then, of course, everybody eats together.
Why we love it
Food is one of the warmest ways to share a culture. Cooking Club turns our diversity into something students can see, smell and taste — and it brings parents into school in the most sociable way possible.
Recent sessions have celebrated Mozambican Capulana traditions, Turkish pepper pastry, baklava and kumpir, among many others.
